Description
The Spanish airline Iberia has announced its intention of implementing a new employment adjustment plan. The executive president of the company has explained that this measure is part of a larger plan which aims to make some necessary adjustments to secure the company's future. Negotiations with the trade unions have not been completed but it is likely that it will affect 1000 workers. The executive president has also informed the media that, if the measure is finally agreed with by the trade unions, it will have some impact on every department within the organisation, but he stressed that restructuring is particularly needed in maintenance and in the central offices.
Iberia recently concluded an employment adjustment plan affecting 1,427 workers.
