Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
US- based car manufacturer Cooper Standard Automotive is to expand its production and create 200 new jobs during 2017. The company has recently started building a new production hall with an investment of CZK 1 billion (EUR 37 million) in the city of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. It is expected that the company, which currently employs around 1,000 people at its main manufacturing site in the city of Ždár nad Sázavou, will create a total of 450 positions on this new site by 2020.
The company received investment incentives from the Czech government.
The business expansion has been negotiated by CzechInvest which also mediated negotiations with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs concerning the promotion of local employment offices in recruiting and retraining new employees.
