Description
Soft drinks manufacturer Coca Cola announced the collective redundancies of 122 workers at its Gent plant following the renovation of its production facilities. The renovation brought about efficiency gain which will result in job losses.
The Gent plant currently employs 438 people (279 in production and 159 in distribution). The plant has seven production lines for 12 brands; it produces and distributes annually about 261 million litres of beverages.
Coca-Cola is a major employer in Belgium, with more than 2,400 workers employed at various locations.
