Description
ArcelorMittal Galati is to hire 100 workers from its apprentice school. Last year, the company decided to re-open the apprentice school.
The company has implemented significant staff reductions over recent years due to declining profits recorded since 2008. In addition to the 6,000 workers directly employed by ArcelorMittal, another 2,000 working at the Galati plant are employed by the company's contractors.
ArcelorMittal Galati, the former Sidex steel undertaking, was bought from the state in 2001 by Indian billionaire Lakshmi Mittal.
