Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
At the beginning of June 2016, 3M, the American manufacturer of office and packaging stationery and related products, has announced the creation of 275 new jobs at its Business Share Service Centre in Wrocław. In total, the company has 400 positions in the unit (125 jobs were reported in 2015). The unit supports business processes (including accounting, IT, managerial and administrative services) within the company’s units in 52 countries in Europe, the Near East and Africa. The project was supported by Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency.
3M has been operating in Poland since 1991. Currently, the company has seven facilities (including R&D centre and centre of innovation located in Wrocław) in Poland and employs over 2,000 people.
