Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Finnish financial service group OP-Financial Group has announced that it will invest €2 billion in digitalisation over the next five years and will hire at least 100 digital developers as a result. At the moment around 600 experts are involved in OP's development projects and more employees are needed as OP plans to expand from the banking and insurance market to include welfare and health markets as well. The new digital developers will work with system design and developing areas such as the Internet of things and cloud computing architecture. Some developers will be hired as project managers. Recruitment processes are already underway.
