Motherwell based manufacturing firm Terex Trucks has announced plans to cut 65 jobs from its workforce. The workforce currently numbers 365, and in 2009/10 had 630 workers. Established in 1950, the firm was acquired by Volvo in 2014. The company produces specialist vehicles - articulated and rigid dump trucks - which are used in industries like mining and construction. It has been reported that the jobs which have been earmarked to be cut include 10 administrative positions and 55 shop-floor positions. The job losses will be subject to the statutory consultation process, and once this is completed, further details about the timetable will be known.
