European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The milk manufacturer Candia, a subsidiary of the cooperative group Sodiaal, will increase its production at La Talaudière near Saint-Etienne, in the framework of a ten-years contract signed with the Chinese group Synutra, to produce 450 million 20 cl cartons of whole milk per year that will be exported to China. The production is intended for Chinese school-children. The manager of the plant announced that it would recruit about 100 employees between 2016 and 2017. The contract was signed on 7 April between Sodiaal and the Synutra. Candia employs 1,500 people in France and had a turnover of €1.6 billion in 2014.
