Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
IT software development company Intel Software Development, the Romanian subsidiary of the American Global Intel Corporation, announced the dismissal of all its 150 permanent full-time positions at its Bucharest centre. The job cuts, which are envisaged in the global reorganisation plan announced on 19 April 2016, are expected to be implemented by the end of June 2016.
In Romania, Intel Corporation will keep the centre Wind Riverin Galati (Galati County) for software developing. Wind River was purchased by Intel Corporation in 2009 and it’s an independent company. The trade union has so far not reacted to the announcement.
Intel Corporation is an American multinational group which has been operating in Romania since 2010.
