Description
The worldwide manufacturer of furniture Ikea Industry is scaling down in Västerbotten leading to 144 redundancies in Lycksele and Malå. The factory in Malå will close if a new owner can't be found, and around half of the jobs in Lycksele will be cut. Management has cited a low demand for the "Nornäs" collection of pine wood furniture as a reason for the redundancies. In addition, as many as 15 sub-contractors will also be affected by the redundancies and by lowered production volumes.
