Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The luxury brand Hermès is recruiting 200 leather craftsmen within three years for its new site in Le Vaudreuil (Eure) in Normandie. The company, which currently employs 97 individuals, began its recruitment drive in March, and the first round of recruitment is due to be completed by the end of April 2016. The company stated that it is looking for experienced professionals, who will maintain the high standards that Hermès expects, but also highlighted that it will take on some beginners. The company has been present in Le Vaudreuil since 1975, but will now moving to a larger facility as the current one has become cramped and is no longer able to keep up with production requirements.
