Description
The group Terex Carnes has announced that it is to cut around 50 positions in its sites of Saint-Vallier near Montceau-les-MinesIn. The reductions are to take place within the framework of a restructuring programme that will affect 600 positions worldwide. The group will organise a meeting with its central works council by the end of May to give details on the restructuring plan and to start negotiations on an employment safeguard plan. The group cite a decrease in orders of crane trucks and heavy container handlers (also known as stackers) as a reason for the restructuring. According to a unionist interviewed by Monceau News, the poor economic situation of the company is not the only explanation for the restructuring, and stated that the management has also failed to make strategic decisions.
