Description
Alsa GmbH, subsidiary of German shoe manufacturer Birkenstock, is planning to create 400 new jobs at its site in Görlitz by the end of 2020. These plans are part of the business expansion of Birkenstock. Additionally, the company will invest around €15 million in the expansion of production, new facilities and the infrastructure of its plant in Görlitz. Furthermore, a new production hall with a surface of 20,000 square metres will be built. Alsa wants to increase the production of shoes per day from 25,000 to 30,000 at its Saxon site.
Birkenstock, headquartered in Neustadt (Wied), one of the largest employer in the region of Görlitz, currently employs 3,000 staff worldwide of which a total of 2,900 in Germany
