European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Spanish media firm, Unidad Editorial, has announced that it will apply a labour force adjustment affecting 224 employees, or around 20% of its entire workforce. The plan will affect 94 workers from the newspaper El Mundo, 16 workers from the economic newspaper Expanisón and 24 from the sport newspaper Marca. The employment adjustment will be executed in a month and it is foreseen that it will finish before July. With the measure, the company aims to cut costs by €15 million in two years.
