Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Burger King Restaurants Italia, a fast food chain under the Burger King brand, announced the intention to open 33 new restaurants in Italy where about 125 new jobs will be created by the end of 2016. The open positions are for 100 assistant managers on part-time contracts and 25 managers employed on a full-time basis.
The chain opened its first restaurants in Italy in 1999 in Milan. Today, Burger King has about 132 restaurants in Italy. The hirings are part of the company business plan that foresees investments worth about €340 million and the opening of about 300 new sites in Italy over the next five years. The number of vacancies is expected to have a boost soon.
