Description
German automobile manufacturer Daimler is investing €170 million in its Mercedes-Benz press plant in Kuppenheim and thereby creating 200 new jobs. Also the production and storage area of the Kuppenheim plant has been extended by 25,000 square metres.
With one of the most modern body presses worldwide, the company has a competitive advantage for producing the current compact car generation. The new plant will supply the Mercedes-Benz sites in Rastatt (Germany) and Kecskemet (Hungary) as well as the Finnish contract manufacturer Valmet Automotive. Since 2012, this is the first time Daimler is recruiting employees (see 04.2012). Most recently Daimler had to cut jobs in order to save costs (see 12.2014, 11.2014, 05.2014, 01.2013).
Daimler AG, headquartered in Stuttgart, currently employs 284,015 staff worldwide.
