Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Italian insurance and finance company Generali Poland has announced that it will cut up to 300 jobs across Poland by the end of 2016. The restructuring programme will be implemented in all four subsidiaries of the company: Generali TU, Generali Życie TU, Generali PTE and Generali Finance. According the company, the programme is associated with factors which have affected the insurance market such as higher payouts on personal claims and changing regulatory environment. The conditions of the programme are negotiated with the local trade union. Currently, the company employs about 1,700 people across the country.
