Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Spanish public passenger railway company Renfe will hire between 400 and 500 workers for the first time since the crisis. In 2015 the company applied an employment adjustment, as reported in the ERM (see Renfe). In addition, Adif, the public railway company in charge of infrastructure management has confirmed that it will create 262 jobs, also reported in the ERM (see Adif). The Spanish public budget has allowed both companies to hire new workers in order to replace workers dismissed in previous adjustment processes. Moreover, the extension of the high velocity railway network requires new staff.
