Description
Swedish IKEA Industry Slovakia will cut about 17% of jobs in Jasna and make 130 workers redundant by the end of August 2016. IKEA Industry in Jasna produces timber furniture and has 732 employees. According to Iveta Ondrusova, a representative of IKEA Jasna, redundancies are attributed to a decrease in orders from customers. In order to maintain long-term competitiveness, operations in the production of furniture are being reorganised. The management, in cooperation with trade unions, will look for suitable assistance to all workers concerned by redundancy.
