Swedish media group Mittmedia is to cut 130 job positions following cost-saving needs of SEK130 million (€14 million) during 2017 and 2018. 90 editorial positions will be cut, which directly affects the newspapers owned by Mittmedia. An additional 40 positions will be cut from other departments of the media group. Mittmedia publishes a total of 28 newspapers in the middle and mid-northern parts of Sweden. The media group had a total revenue of SEK208 million (€22.4 million) in 2015.
The ERM has previously reported on redundancies at Mittmedia in 2012.
