Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The furniture manufacturer Contorte Ltd. in Virovitica will hire 180 new workers. An investment of €6 million has enabled the company to take over premises previously maintained by Vroexpo for furniture production. The new employees will mostly be carpenters and wood technicians, but also tertiary educated staff. Funds for new investment were drawn from the European Union Structural Funds, from commercial banks in cooperation with the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development and from the company's own resources.
