The Dutch wholesaler Makro Netherlands has announced that it will shed 600 jobs over the next three years. The move has been attributed to a general decline in the profitability and market share of wholesalers in the Netherlands. According to the director of Makro Netherlands, Kef Helbergen, 'we make a profit, but not enough'. The company will also reduce its product range from about 65,000 to 32,000 products, while also diversifying the range of products.
