Description
Footwear manufacturer Clark announced a reorganisation that will result in the loss of 170 jobs in England. Workers affected by the reorganisation are mostly employed in Street in Somerset, where 1,230 workers were employed. The head office is also located in Street. Other jobs will be lost in a UK-based distribution centre and in Boston in the USA. The UK redundancies will take effect by the end of February 2016. Clarks first commenced trading almost two hundred years ago using their tannery to make sheepskin slippers.
