Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Volkswagen Poznań has announced that it will create 1,500 new jobs at its new factory in Września (Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone, Poland). The factory is expected to be fully operational in October 2016.
In October 2014, the company received a permit for building the factory which will produce a new generation of Volkswagen Crafter. The investment is worth PLN 3.3 million (EUR 0.74 million USD 0.82 million) and will bring 3,000 jobs in total; by the end of 2015, the company created 1,500 jobs there. The plant will produce 100 thousand cars per year.
Volkswagen Poznań has been operating in Poland since 1993; the company employs over 7,000 people in the region. It recruited 900 people at its Poznań plant in 2015.
