Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Private security company Securitas is to hire 500 new employees in Sweden during 2016, having already hired 200 new employees in Sweden during the autumn of 2015. New employees will work mainly with guarding temporary houses where refugees seeking asylum are living. Private security companies are gradually taking over assignments connected to the arrival of refugees which are not part of the main duties of the police. The Police are of course still in charge of investigating attacks on asylum accommodations.
In response to the large amounts of refugees and unaccompanied refugee children who arrived in Sweden during the autumn Gothenburg Muncipality, Malmö Municpality and Stockholm Municipality have hired a large number of new employees to work with the refugees.
