Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Retailer Palink announced plans to further expand in Lithuania and create around 200 new jobs across different regions of the country by the end of 2016. Among the reasons of expansion the company mentioned the introduction of a new deposit system for single-use packaging in Lithuania which is effective since February 2016. The new system requires collection of a monetary deposit on reusable packaging at the point of sale. The company plans to employ at least 100 operators to comply with the new requirements.
Currently Palink operates more than 240 stores with 7,690 employees under the IKI brand.
