Telecommunications company Virgin Media has announced plans to cut 900 jobs from its British workforce. The company was bought by US based Liberty Global in 2013 and has since embarked on plans to reorganise the business. The company has confirmed that it has begun mandatory consultation with employees affected by the plans, though it has not been announced where the job losses will come from. In terms of the timescale, Virgin Media expects that the cuts will start soon and will continue over a period of two years.
