Description

The industrial bakery LBG Bakeries has declared bankruptcy citing decreasing demand for bread. LBG Bakeries, with its headquarters in Diest, has several establishments throughout Belgium. Three of the establishments have been taken over, saving 243 jobs in total. The establishment in Morlanwelz (214 employees) has been taken over by the company La Lorraine (93 jobs saved), the establishment in Heusden-Zolder (191 jobs) and the establishment in Asse (111 jobs) have been taken over by the families Cretskens and Foucart (80 jobs saved in Heusden-Zolder, 70 jobs in Asse). For the establishments in Diest (91 jobs), Ardooie (58 jobs) and Lommel (19 jobs), no take-over proved possible.
