US owned bank Morgan Stanley has announced plans to cut 400 banking jobs as part of streamlining its bond trading activities. It is reported that 100 of these jobs will be lost from its site in London's Canary Wharf. Media reports suggest that the bank has been pressured by investors to cut costs as income has dropped. The bank reported in October that profits had dropped by 42%. No information is available on when these job losses are expected to take effect.
