Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In the framework of the take over of Alstoms' power and energy activities, the US group General Electric has announced its plan to increase its workforce in France by about 1,000 positions. The group has announced it will recruit about 250 engineers in the beginning of 2016 for the new software centre in Paris. The software centre has the capacity to recruit many more employees in the future, according to Mark Hutchinson, GE Europe's CEO. The group has also announced other job creations but didn't give details on the timeline.
