European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The German retailer of electronics equipment Media Markt, which belongs to the Metro group, foresees the creation of up to 500 jobs in Spain in 2016. The company will open new stores in Santiago de Compostela, Mallorca, Barcelona and Madrid in 2016. Thus, it will increase its current stores from 77 to 100. Currently, Media Markt has a market quota of 14% in Spain. In 2014/2015 the company created 1014 jobs. The company profits increased in Spain by 3% in the last year compared to 1% in Italy.
