Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish national airline Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT (PLL LOT) has announced that it will create 290 new jobs in 2016. The airline plans to grow and increase its offer by 40%, creating new jobs for the first time in years. The company plans to employ 200 ground staff and 90 pilots. Moreover, in line with the bilateral agreement signed between the local trade unions and PLL LOT, the 2016 budget to pay for expenses will be increased by PLN 12mn (EUR 2.83mn USD 3.01mn). The amount will be shared between all employee groups. Currently, the company employs 1,350 people.
