Description
FrieslandCampina, the Dutch dairy producer, has announced a restructuring plan that will affect up to 140 jobs. The plan involves three plants across the Netherlands. The butter factory in Den Bosch will focus on milk skimming and butter packaging, and the production of butter specialities will be relocated to Noordwick by the first quarter of 2016, leading to the loss of 21 permanent jobs and 19 temporary jobs. 71 employees will remain in Den Bosch. FrieslandCampina's small production location in Limmen will close by mid-2016, resulting in 26 permanent and 4 temporary positions. The production of the 'Campina Boer en Land' brand will continue in Maasdam. Finally, cheese production in Rijkevoort will be transfered to Bedum, Gerkesklooster and Workum, and the factory will be closed by the third quarter of 2017, resulting in the loss of 55 permanent jobs and 13 temporary jobs. Production transfers will not create any new jobs. Trade unions have been informed of the plan, and the workers council have been asked for advice.
