Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Spanish firm Novelec, which specialises in the wholesale of electrical, ventilation and fluids equipment, plans to hire 70 new workers in 2016 for its logistics, distribution and technical departments in Barcelona. Currently, the company employs 320 workers. The firm foresees a turnover of €100 million in 2015 which would represent an increase of about 35% compared to the previous year. The firm has 40 stores across Spain, and expects to open 8 more in 2016. The company plans to expand in the Levante region central and north-east areas of Spain
