Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Italian furniture manufacturer Ditre is to hire 108 people for its sofa factory in Arad. According to the Arad County Agency for Employment, the open positions are mainly for production workers, carpenters and machine tool operators. One of the company spokespersons mentioned that the production site had been extended and more workers in production are now needed.
Update, 22 June 2016: Ditre Romania plans to recruit 159 persons for the sofa factory in Arad by the end of 2016. At present, the factory employs 490 individuals, which is set to increase to 650 in the coming period in 2016 following the current job openings.
