Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
3M, the American manufacturer of office and packaging stationery and related products, has announced that will create 125 jobs at its new shared services centre in Wrocław by the end of 2015. In total, the company will invest PLN 3.7mn and create 500 positions in the centre by the end of 2018. The investment will receive almost PLN 3.1mn (EUR 0.73mn USD 0.78mn) public support from the Polish government. The centre will provide back office services, including accounting, IT, managerial and administrative services, for the group’s companies operating in Europe, the Near East and Africa. 3M employs around 88,000 people worldwide and operates in 65 countries. It has been operating in Poland since 1991. The company has 7 facilities in Wrocław.
