European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Pharmaceutical company Merck has announced that it will increase the staff of its plant located in Mollet (473 employees) by around 10%. Accordingly, around 50 people will be hired. The date of the employment effect start has not been announced yet. The company plans to invest € 20 million in the following three years. In the last year, the company hired 116 new workers, being half of them from the Mollet region. Merk is a multinational company that is present in 66 countries, employing 38,000 workers. According to the company, around 90% of the products made in the plant of Mollet are exported to other countries.
