The Slovenian company Krka is one of the leading producers of generic pharmaceuticals. On 4 November 2015 Krka officially opened in Novo Mesto a new plant, Notol 2, for the production of solid dosage form medicines. The investment, which overall is worth EUR 200 million, is the biggest in the history of the company. The plant, which is currently employing 127 employees, started the production in February and its present capacity (i.e. 1.5 billion of tablets and capsules per year) is only one third of its future full capacity. Several hundred workers will be additionally employed with the progressive expansion of production.
