Description
Dutch travel agency start-up Travelbird has announced the loss of 100 jobs at its headquarters in Amsterdam. The job loss is the result of a new growth strategy, following the decision to pull out of five of its seventeen national markets: Portugal, Hungary, Spain, Italy and Poland. The company stated that these countries did not show the same growth potential as the remaining twelve. The company was started five years ago, and has a stated goal of turning a profit next year. In May, Travelbird received a €16.5 million injection from German company Global Founders Capital.
