Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
DSM, a company which specialises in producing chemicals for health and nutrition, has announced the intention to reduce their workforce by 900 to 1100 people - half of which will be from the Netherlands. The targeted roles will mainly be support functions such as financial, legal, communications and personnel functions. The reduction will save €125-150 million per year.
