Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
IT company OVH is to recruit 290 new staff by the end of 2015 and beginning 2016 at its new campus in Roubaix (Nord) where its headquarters are located. The new positions are for Research & Development and commercial activities. Established in 1999, the French company operates 17 data centres as of 2015 and has 1,100 employees worldwide. The group has consistently expanded over the last few years, and has previously announced plans to recruit 100 employees in 2011, 500 employees in 2012, 150 employees in 2013 and 150 employees in 2014-2015. OVH plans to extend its campus over the next two years, increasing employment in Roubaix from 670 to 1,500 people by the end of 2017.
