Description
Munksjö, a Finland-based specialised paper products manufacturer, announced 45 redundancies at its plant in Mathi (TO). The plant, which is managed jointly with the partner company Ahlstrom, currently employs about 275 workers. The company expects to gain from the operation, improving the efficiency of the plant and saving between 2.0 -2.5 EUR million per year in operating costs. During the next weeks, local unions will be involved in negotiations in order to negotiate the number of dismissals, measures to reduce their social impact as well as possible alternatives.
