Description
UNISTER, a German e-commerce company, will cut 150 jobs immediately and is to cut further 100 jobs in the medium term. In light of the implementation of an income optimisation programme, which is called “Unister 3.0”, the company is aiming to achieve savings of €30 million mainly through saving costs in areas with limited growth prospects. With this programme, the company is also aiming to reduce its stuff numbers by 25%.
Unister is a German e- commerce company which is headquartered in Leipzig. The company was founded in 2002 and currently has around 1,500 employees . Although Unister, the operator of online travel portals like Ab-in-den-Urlaub.de or Fluege.de, already cut 200 jobs last year. According to the press statement of Unister, a total of 100 of its employees are prepared to sign a termination agreement, while 50 employees already agreed to leave the company. Furthermore, around 100 jobs will be reduced additionally via natural fluctuation in the midterm.
