Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Tenneco Marzocchi, a producer of bikes and motorbikes suspension forks, announced the dismissal of its 127 employees following the termination of its activities and closure of the plant in Zola Predosa (BO). The decision was disclosed by the management of its parent company, Tenneco, a US-based leading manufacturer of technology products for cars. Tenneco blamed the closure of the plant and discontinuation of production on the highly competitive pricing pressures in the market. Trade unions and institutions are seeking to save the plant and are holding meetings with a potential buyer.
