Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The car manufacturer Renault has announced it will recruit about 1,000 employees in its commercial network of private dealers and brand distribution subsidiaries. Employees will be mainly recruited on permanent employment contracts. The group has announced in February 1,000 recruitments this year (50% in its production sites) and has recruited 104 workers in its site at Flins (Yvelines). The recruitments result from clauses in a competitiveness agreement signed with the unions in 2013 that led to 7,500 job cuts.
