Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo (PGNiG) has informed about planned further reduction of its workforce in 2015. The cut by about 2,000 positions is expected to happen mostly naturally with staff retirement but also voluntary dismissal programme will be in place.
By application of the same measures PGNiG has cut about 2,000 jobs in 2014.
The job cuts are part of a wider restructuring plan for the 2014-2016 period by which the company aims to improve its effectiveness.
PGNiG is the largest Polish oil and gas company. The group consists of 29 companies and employ approximately 27,000 people across the country.
