Wollsdorf Leder’s General Manager Andreas Kindermann was in town on June 17, 2015 and visited the site of the new factory with Croatia’s Minister of Economy Ivan Vrdoljak. Wollsdorf Leder didn’t decide to build a factory in Croatia just because of the good weather, but because this location in Jalžabet is located just 250 kilometres from its headquarters in Austria. It is also situated between Wollsdorf base and important clients in Romania. Thanks to the excellent cooperation with representatives of central and local government building permits were obtained in a short period. Wollsdorf Leder, who has been supplying leather for the automobile, furniture, aviation and boat-building industries since 1932, will employ additionally 300 people in the new 10,000 square-meter Croatian factory when it will be completed before Christmas 2015. Thus, in 2016 seats for jumbo jets and other planes and trains will be produced in Croatia.
