Description
Finnish postal service and logistics company, Posti (previously named Itella), is cutting 319 jobs across the country. This is due to the closing of 77 post offices (from 98 to 21). The post offices will in many cases be replaced by postal service points. According to Posti, this measure will increase the opening hours and make sure that postal services are available in closer proximity to the customers.
On 1 January 2015, Itella Corporation and its subsidiary Itella Posti were merged and renamed Posti Group. The employees at Posti (then Itella) have been affected by several restructuring events over the past years, most recently in 2014.
