Description

Sikorsky Aircraft is planning to reduce global employment by 1400 workers. The restructuring programme is caused by the declining demand for military and civil helicopters. As a result, the Polish biggest aircraft producer Polskie Zakłady Lotnicze (PZL Mielec), which was acquired by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation in 2007, will reduce its employment by cutting 510 positions. The conditions of the restructuring programme will be negotiated with the local trade unions at the unit in Mielec.
