Description
Computing US company IBM has announced to its central works council a reorganisation plan to cut about 345 positions via a voluntary departure scheme affecting mainly those approaching retirement. The job cuts are expected to be implemented by October 2015. CGT and CFDT unions claims the firm has pledged to hire one person for every two jobs cut, while it will also offer external mobility.
IBM has cut positions in France on a regular basis since the 90s. The last voluntary departure plan was implemented in 2013 with 689 job cuts.
